Why Do We Do It?
Ports and stopovers are what bring cruises to life, and are often the highlight of any cruise. There can be many ways to enjoy them : some will lend themselves very well to a simple walking trip; at others you may want to take advantage of good local transport facilities, (or the adventurous may want to hire a car). But if you want a truly informed view, then hitherto the best (and often the only) choice has generally been to take a ship’s tour.
We are not at all opposed to ships’ tours; much of the time they can be highly enjoyable and informative. But there are other times when they might not be the option that suits you best. Perhaps, for example, you are not fond of coaches; perhaps you would prefer to get up at the time that suits you in the morning; perhaps you’d prefer to move at your own pace, whether that is faster or slower; or perhaps you simply prefer the more in-depth exploration that is possible when you can converse with a guide rather than being lectured by one. In short, good as ship’s tours can be, they have not always been the right for you as an individual.
Our Product And Our Guarantee
Book a private tour with Carte Blanche and we guarantee you the following:
- When you first call us, let us know where in the world you want to tour, and (ideally) whether there are any special places that you would like to see. We will then call you back as soon as possible with full costs, and maybe some good ideas, and your tour can be booked there and then.
- You will be personally met off the ship by an English speaking guide (vetted by Carte Blanche). He or she will, prior to your tour beginning, establish what your expectations of and hopes for the tour are, to ensure that full attention is paid to your preferences.
- You will then be given an informed and entertaining tour, in private air-conditioned transport.
- You will not have to pay any additional costs or gratuities, (except of course for standard entrance fees for sites that you visit)
And even better, because your tours can be booked anytime up to two weeks before you cruise, you can relax, Mundy-style, in the knowledge that it’s all taken care of, and that you really are going to see the sights in the very best and the most personal way.
Our Costs
Costs for tour guides vary across the world, and because our costs are of course dependent on local guide rates, we have no standard price list. But because of their very individual nature, we have to say that (generally) a Mundy Carte Blanche tour of a destination will understandably probably cost more than a standard ship’s tour, for which reason you may want to reserve them for really special ports of call.
