Sample Private Tour III: Istanbul
Imagine you told us that you wanted to see as many diverse aspects of Istanbul in the most relaxing and personal way possible, Carte Blanche style. This is what might happen on the day :
- You chose when you wanted to start your tour when you booked. So no need for those early starts - have a leisurely lie-in if you want.
- You are met at the gangplank by your Mundy Carte Blanche Guide. He’s holding a Carte Blanche board with your name on it.
- You are then taken in an air-conditioned car to visit Hippodrome Square, where you will see the famous Egyptian Obelisk of Theodosius brought from Karnak, the Serpentine Column and the German Fountain of Wilhelm II.
- Then an informed journey to, and inside, the magnificent 16th Century Blue Mosque, the symbol of Istanbul with its six minarets.
- Next, onto the 4th Century Church of Chora, where you will see the most remarkable Byzantine mosaics from the 9th Century and also frescoes from 11th Century
- Take as much time as you wish to explore round the church and this tranquil quarter. Maybe you’d like some lunch? You decide – if that’s what you want, then you can always ask your guide to help you choose where to eat.
- Or maybe you want to continue the tour. (Remember you are in charge!). The final stop will be a visit to the Grand Bazaar, where you can shop as you want or maybe just wander through the maze of colours. Your guide can advise you on the best deals.
- And now finally back to the car for a comfortable return journey to the ship.
